WATCH: Spike Lee's 'Pass Over' Heads to Amazon

Amazon released the official trailer for Spike Lee's latest project, "Pass Over."
"Pass Over" is a filmed stage production about "two young black men talking shit, passing the time, and dreaming of the promised land."
The production is referred to as a riff on the oft-performed Samuel Beckett play, "Waiting for Godot."
John Michael Hill, Julian Parker, Ryan Hallahan, and Blake DeLong. star in "Pass Over." Hill has appeared in several television series including "Eastbound & Down" and "Elementary." Parker appeared in "Chicago P.D." and "Chicago Fire," and now stars on "The Chi." Hallahan is a stage actor who also had single episode appearances on "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago Med." DeLong has appeared on "The Good Fight," "The Daily Show," "Vinyl," and more. All four are familiar faces to Chicago theater.
The play premiered at the Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago last summer. This film for Amazon is from one of those stage performances. Antoinette Nwandu wrote "Pass Over," and it was included on the 2016 Kilroys' List, which seeks to provide a voice for women and transgender playwrights in American theater. Nwandu also wrote "Vanna White Must Die" and "Breach: a manifesto on race in America through the eyes of a black girl recovering from self-hate." The latter premieres sometime this year.
Danya Taymor directed the play for the stage, and Spike Lee directed the film. Taymor is directing stage productions in Chicago. Lee is a two-time Academy Award nominee. His first nomination came for writing the script of "Do the Right Thing" in 1990. The second was for the documentary feature "4 Little Girls." Later this year, Lee's "Black Klansman" will hit theaters.
"Pass Over" will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video on April 20.
