WATCH: John Krasinski is Jack Ryan in New Super Bowl Trailer

John Krasinski: "Office" jokester, dramatic actor, and now action star. The actor and director stars in the newest iteration of "Jack Ryan," a Paramount TV series set for release on Amazon, which aired its own spot during the Super Bowl ad-pocalypse.

Krasinski, the sixth actor to play Ryan, will uncover a pattern in terrorist communication in the upcoming series, according to Den of Geek. He soon finds himself in the center of a dangerous globe game of intrigue, secrets and a new type of terrorism that threatens Earth's very survival. The ten episode season is helmed by showrunners Carlton Cuse ("Lost") and Graham Roland ("Fringe"), with Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes banner and Skydance Media behind the scenes; Paramount TV developed the series for Amazon.

"Jack Ryan" premieres on Amazon August 31. Watch the Super Bowl spot below.
