The Chicago Independent Film Critics Circle (CIFCC) has just announced their winners for the best in film in 2017.

Jordan Peele's "Get Out" snagged four awards, with three going to Peele himself for best director, best original screenplay and being an all-around trailblazer with his directorial debut. "Lady Bird" and "Logan" earned top honors for best indie and best studio film, respectively, with "Lady Bird's" Saoirse Ronan also winning best actress and Laurie Metcalf tying with "I, Tonya's" Allison Janney for best supporting actress. As 2017 was a particularly rich year in film, Daniel Kaluuya ("Get Out") and Gary Oldman ("Darkest Hour") also tied for best actor.

A highlight amongst the accolades is the yearly Impact Award, going to director Patty Jenkins for helming "Wonder Woman." The award, which celebrates those whose work has had a positive impact on society, is a perfect fit for Jenkins, who inspired girls around the world by directing "Wonder Woman," a film that also became the top-grossing superhero origin movie of all time.
