The Indiana Film Journalists Association announced their picks for the best of 2017.

The IFJA launched their annual awards in 2009. Past winners include "Moonlight," "Spotlight," "Boyhood," and "12 Years a Slave."

"Lady Bird" was a big hit with the association, earning prizes for Picture, Director, Screenplay, Lead and Supporting Actresses. Each category has a winner and a runner up. For Best Film, IFJA also selects 8 additional finalists.

The only category with one recognition is the Hoosier Award, given to a filmmaker with roots in Indiana, or a film about the state. This year's selection was "Columbus," which was filmed in southern Indiana. In a statement about the film, IFJA members said:
Writer and director Kogonada made the architectural haven of Columbus, Indiana, an integral part of his debut film. As a meditation on time, responsibility and the influence of art on everyday life, "Columbus" shows the introspective side of Hoosiers that is often left out in stereotypical portrayals.
