Seth Meyers to Host 75th Golden Globe Awards

Last week, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that Seth Meyers will host the 75th Golden Globe Awards.

The host of "Late Night with Seth Meyers" last hosted the ceremony in 2014. Other recent hosts include Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, and Jimmy Fallon.

HFPA President Meher Tatna said in a statement:

"The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is excited to have Seth Meyers host the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards. With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognizing the best in television and film at the Party of the Year."

Prior to taking over his own late-night show, Meyers spent 12 years on "Saturday Night Live" as both a writer and performer. For a time, he hosted the popular segment, Weekend Update. He moved to weeknights in the fallout from the infamous fight over The Tonight Show, in which Jimmy Fallon ultimately became the host of that show. Meyers took over the late night slot from Fallon.

The nominations for the 75th Golden Globe Awards will be revealed on Monday, December 11. The awards ceremony will be televised live coast-to-coast on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at 8 PM EST.
