WATCH: Margot Robbie Becomes Tonya Harding in Teaser Trailer for 'I, Tonya'

NEON released the teaser trailer for their highly anticipated film "I, Tonya."
Margot Robbie laces up her skates to play the iconic Tonya Harding in this biopic. In 1992, Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding became a villain in one of the strangest sports stories of the 20th century. When her rival Nancy Kerrigan was attacked after practice just weeks before the Winter Olympics, Harding landed in the midst of a major scandal.
The film "I, Tonya" tells the story from Harding's perspective, including details of her childhood and the intense pressure she faced as she prepared for the biggest competition of her life.
Mckenna Grace plays the childhood incarnation of Harding. The young actress starred opposite Chris Evans earlier this year in "Gifted." She also plays the President's daughter on the series "Designated Survivor."
Allison Janney plays Tonya's cantankerous mother, LaVona Golden. The multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee has starred in a number of films and television including "The West Wing" and "Mom."
Sebastian Stan also stars as Tonya's ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly. Alongside Harding, Gillooly became a prominent figure in the scandal. Stan is best known for playing Bucky Barnes in the "Captain America" films. He also recently appeared in "Logan Lucky."
The cast of "I, Tonya" also includes Bobby Cannavale ("Ant-Man"), Julianne Nicholson ("Black Mass"), and Caitlin Carver ("Dear White People").
The film was written by Steven Rogers ("P.S. I Love You") and directed by Craig Gillespie ("Lars and the Real Girl"). It is one of the first acquisitions from NEON, who also distributed "Ingrid Goes West."
On Thursday morning, it was announced that the film received two IFP Gotham Award Nominations for Best Feature, and Best Actress (Margot Robbie).
"I, Tonya" will be in theaters December 8.
