The new trailer has dropped for Alfonso Gomez-Rejon's "The Current War" starring Academy Award nominees Benedict Cumberbatch ("The Imitation Game") and Michael Shannon ("Revolutionary Road" and "Nocturnal Animals").

Written by Michael Mitnick ("The Giver"), the film tells the dramatic story of the cutthroat race between electricity titans Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse to determine whose electrical system would power the modern world.

The film also stars Katherine Waterston ("Inherent Vice"), Tom Holland ("Spider-Man: Homecoming"), Nicholas Hoult ("Mad Max: Fury Road"), and Matthew Macfadyen ("Pride & Prejudice").

"The Current War" is composed by Volker Bertelmann and Dustin O'Halloran, who both are fresh off their nominations for "Lion."  Chung-hoon Chung serves as the film's DP, who received raves last year for his work on "The Handmaiden."  The film is edited by David Trachtenberg, who previously worked with Gomez-Rejon on "Me & Earl & the Dying Girl."

"The Current War" will be distributed by the Weinstein Company is scheduled to hit theaters in limited release on Nov. 24.  The film will also screen at the Toronto International Film Festival.
