Telling people what you do with clarity

Telling people what you do with clarity

Telling people what you doTelling people what you do is not easy
Telling people what you do with clarity is even harder
I was talking to a new client the other day and we got around to the question "So tell me what you do".   She looked at me and said "I do Reiki and healing with oils.  I also do a bit of life coaching and help women feel better".    I looked at her and repeated the question "Yes, but what do you do".

The client then spent a couple of minutes listing all the things she does to help people feel better, and once again I said "yes I know but what do you do".    The confusion on her face said it all.

We began to look at the outcome for her clients.   What does a client feel when they have received treatment or therapy.   What is the overall problem you solve.    Eventually the client began to realise that what she did was to empower women to take control of their lives.    And she did that using a variety of therapies needed to obtain that outcome.

Once she realised exactly what she did and how she did it, when I asked her what she did, the answer came easily and in her own words.    Now she is able to stand up and tell people what she does with confidence and clarity and people who need her services know exactly how she can help them and they want to work with her.

Think about the real problem people have.   People buy solutions and they buy from people they trust have the solution.   How you do what you do is your tool-kit, the end result is what you do. That way telling people what you do becomes a lot easier.
