Nay Pyi Taw: Myanmar has released a total of 2,296 detainees from across the country, according to data released by the army-run State Administration Council (SAC).

The detainees, including 1,839 men and 457 women, who were arrested in connection with the country's protests since the February 1 coup, were released as a priority batch.
Those released include a total of 721 from the Yangon region, 711 from the Mandalay region and 22 from Nae Pei Taw.
The latest such development comes after U Jao Hte, who served as the spokesman for the deposed government led by Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi.
He was freed from military custody in the capital, Ne Pi Taw, after being detained for more than four months.
Which preceded the National League for Democracy (NLD) government led by Suu Kyi, which was ousted after the coup.
At least 858 people have been killed and about 6,000 others arrested in the protests that began since the military takeover, according to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (ADHD).
