Bangkok: Restrictions were imposed in Bangkok and nine other provinces on Sunday in view of rising covid (Coronavirus) cases in Thailand.

In Bangkok, dining in restaurants and gatherings of more than 20 people have been banned.
In addition, construction sites in Bangkok and nine other provinces have been closed and workers' quarters (housing sites) have been sealed.
These restrictions will remain in force for 30 days. In Thailand, 3,995 cases of corona virus infection were confirmed in the last 24 hours and 42 people died.
The number of covid cases has doubled recently and health officials say these cases have increased due to non-cooperation of migrant workers working in factories and in construction work.
"Camps were closed, but workers went between markets and communities and spread the disease," Apisamai Srirangasan, spokeswoman for the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration, said on Friday.
Despite the construction of several field hospitals in Bangkok, the number of beds in hospitals for critically ill COVID-19 patients has fallen short.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha said on Friday that a proposal for a seven-day curfew for the whole of Bangkok has been rejected for the time being.
Under the new restrictions, construction workers will be isolated in camps in Bangkok, five of its neighbouring provinces and four of the country's southern provinces.
Department stores and malls in Bangkok can remain open until 9 p.m., but restaurants are not allowed to sit and eat. Conferences, meetings and parties have been cancelled.
