Mumbai: Former Miss World Manushi Chillar has urged the state governments to distribute sanitary pads along with daily ration to the underprivileged.
Manushi Chillar praised the government's decision to include sanitary pads as essential items in the midst of the Kovid-19 crisis.
However, She says that due to lack of funds in the hands of daily workers due to SARS-Kovid-2, disadvantaged women are at serious risk.
She said, "I am very thankful that sanitary pads have been listed as an essential item by the Government of India during the SARS-Kovid-2 crisis."
"However, we need to keep in mind that women, especially from economically weaker sections, can get pads for free.” She added.
Former Miss World said, "I urge the governments of various states to be pleased to distribute daily rations as well as sanitary pad to the underprivileged."
Manushi is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar based on the historical backdrop of the film 'Prithviraj' later this year.
