Anne-Kathrin Hamilton

Anne-Kathrin Hamilton is a freelance journalist writing primarily about defense, crises, and war at the international level. She also covers the political developments in various countries and their inter-dependencies. Her expertise lies in Ukraine, Russia, Central Asia, and the USA. Anne lived and worked as a journalist in Kazakhstan for several months and as an author in the USA for several years. In her book series “I'll Save the World - But First, a Cigarette”, she uses fiction to interrogate humanity through the war in Syria. From 2022 to 2025, she worked as an editor at the news portal watson, focusing on foreign policy. In addition to her main expertise, she keeps a trained eye on wars and crises in the shadows such as in Sudan and West Africa.
