Sudan: Protests against Bashir continue in Khartoum

Sudanese security forces fired tear gas on Monday at hundreds of demonstrators trying to march to the palace of President Omar Hassan al-Bashir in Khartoum.

The police arrested dozens of people on Monday, including Zeïnab al Mahdi, the daughter of opposition party president Ummah Sadiq al Mahdi.

Armored vehicles equipped with machine guns were parked in the surrounding streets and agents had taken up positions on the roofs.
