Madagascar: Andry Rajoelina elected president

In Madagascar, the official results of the second round of the presidential confirm the victory of Andry Rajoelina with more than 55% of the vote against about 44% for his rival Marc Ravalomanana, who immediately contested the defeat.

The two men, two former presidents, fought a fierce battle throughout the campaign, each side accusing each other of fraud.
