Turkey: Russian missiles S-400 installed in a year, Akara announces
ANKARA (Reuters) - Russia's S-400 ground-to-air missile system, which Turkey has acquired, will begin in October 2019, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said in an interview published Thursday by the daily Hurriyet.

The missiles are not compatible with NATO's defense system and the United States has sought to dissuade Ankara from endowing them with the threat of sanctions and suspension of current weapons contracts.

"Problems have delayed (the installation) of the S-400 - political and judicial events - but current military and political conditions are not a cause for concern," the minister said, adding that a Turkish team would surrender in Russia to be trained.

Hulusi Akar also assured that the order of F-35 American fighters was on its way. The third and fourth, according to him, must be delivered in March
