Trump confirms preparations for a second summit with Kim are underway
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Donald Trump said on Tuesday he would attend a second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and their teams were working on his organization.

The US president said three or four different sites were being considered to host the new meeting, which he said would probably not take place in Singapore.

The island-state hosted last June the historic summit between the two leaders.

Kim Jong-un and Mike Pompeo, the head of US diplomacy he received this weekend in Pyongyang, agreed on organizing a second summit as soon as possible.

Trump was speaking in the Oval Office of the White House, where he confirmed the resignation of his ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.

At the end of the day, from the Air Force One presidential plane that took him to a Republican campaign rally, Donald Trump said that the second summit with Kim Jong-un would take place after the mid-term elections scheduled for 6 November.

"It will be after the mid-term elections, I can not leave now," he told reporters.
