So, last evening we were headed WB on I-40 to Tucumcari for a 10 hr break when I saw several billboards for a place called Russell's Travel Center.

Let's stop and check it out.

OH MY GOSH, why have we never stopped here before? This place is awesome. It's CLEAN

Large, very clean showers.
Rest rooms nice, and kept clean.
There's an adorable chapel.
The laundry room is big, clean and bright. What's best is it has lots of working machines.
The store is large and extremely well stocked.
A 100% free car museum.

While the museum does have amazing cars, it has so much more. Toys, trucking memorabilia, cowboy memorabilia including a whole case of spurs, antique cash registers, juke boxes, Elvis, Marilyn, Betty Boop, and Beatles memorabilia. So much great stuff to see!

The store has a great selection of canned goods and staples. They have a Subway (but we won't hold that against them). They also have a diner. It's clean, cute and has delicious food.

They even have a fenced in dog run for you peeps with pups. And, for you peeps without pups, that means you don't have to walk through dog pooh to get from your truck to the travel center.

All in all its a great place to stop with plenty of parking and AmBest affiliation. Don't know how we missed it before, but we won't miss it again.

P.S. I almost forgot to mention the staff. Every single person we had contact with was friendly, courteous, efficient and pleasant.

As truck stops go, the Russell's Travel Center is simply amazing!
