About Jennifer Abbott:
After art school and a career in advertising in London as an art director and then as a designer in new product development I went freelance in the 1980s. My work included package design as well as food illustration commissions for magazines.

I also began painting for myself and in the 1990s sold, reproduced as cards and prints through companies like Rosenstiels and Images & Editions throughout Europe and North America. My paintings also sold well in galleries including the Mall Galleries in London and Galerie d’Orsay in Paris. I am also a photographer and for many years and with my late husband (travel and jazz writer and magazine editor) enjoyed undertaking travel and jazz photography assignments.
In the 1990s and 2000s reportage wedding photography was another area that I turned my eye to and via word of mouth I would typically undertake 50 weddings each year which was great fun. This included assignements from Brides Magazine and Wedding and Home.
In recent years I have returned to painting. I have also written and illustrated a range of children’s books.
What is Artists at Home?
Artists at Home is an annual open studios scheme held over three days in mid-June across Chiswick, Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush.
This year 77 artists will be delighted to welcome you to their homes or studios where you can see art displayed within a home setting. You can talk with the artist, ask about their process, perhaps see sketchbooks and work in progress.
This is an exciting chance to discover new original work for your home and a fun and lively event with many regular visitors.
Friday 14th - Sunday 16th June 2019
This weekend gives you a more relaxed way to find something special for your home. You may be looking for unique and personal artwork, whether it's your first art purchase or you are adding to your loved collection. You may simply want to enjoy the creativity on offer and bring the family.
Each open studio does things slightly differently - that's what makes visiting such a fun experience. Just look for the signs and ring the doorbell.
