In India, still dominated by a highly hierarchical order, in many places the Dalit, formerly called "Untouchables" are regarded to be the lowest in society. In many places it is deemed their responsibility to clean the streets and collect the garbage. Bread for the worlds partner organisation DBRC in the state of Andhra Pradesh in South India is working towards helping them claim their rights and get a better future for their children.
