Isabelle de Pommereau is a Frankfurt-based correspondent of the Christian Science Monitor, an award-winning Boston-based international news print and online outlet, New Eastern Europe, a Krakow-based bimonthly political news magazine dedicated to covering Central and Eastern Europe, Poland, and Alternatives Economiques out of Paris. Her contributions have also appeared in Deutsche Welle and Readers Digest.
Originally from France, she's reported out of New York City, Miami, Paris, and Frankfurt, where she now lives. She's covered anything from politics to finance, education to the arts and sports, with stories ranging from street gangs to doping in sports, the fight against Neo-Nazism to Germany's energy revolution. In addition to the issues of the day in Germany, her interest recently has moved to include Eastern Europe and the Baltic states. She has reported extensively on Estonian culture, politics, and the environment.
What she likes to do best is use her feet and her ears to find stories off the beaten path. A Fulbright scholar, she holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
