About:

Since 2017, I have been reporting from Montréal as an independent foreign correspondent for important media outlets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (among others FAZ, Der Standard, NZZ, Deutschlandfunk). Before that, I worked as a reporter in Germany, mainly for the public radio (SR 2 KulturRadio), but also as a political correspondent for national print media.

As a foreign correspondent, I am interested in reporting on everything in Canadian society, from history and politics to immigration, economics and science. Among other topics, I have covered the various cultural conflicts in the multicultural province of Québec, the dubious activities of Canadian mining companies in Africa and South America, Leonard Cohen and the Jewish community, the impressive start-up culture of Montréal, refugees fleeing to Canada from the US and the Trump administration's restrictive immigration policy.

In 2018, I was awarded the German Alternative Media Prize for my extensive research about the long-hidden Nazi past of the former minister-president of Saarland, Franz Josef Röder. The prize goes to journalists "who view our world critically and from an unusual perspective".

I hold a M.A. in History, French Cultural Studies and French Literature from Saarland University, Saarbruecken (Germany).
