Jan Ludwig is a freelance journalist, author and fact-checker based in Berlin. He has written for major German media outlets such as the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the German Press Agency (dpa), DIE ZEIT and SPIEGEL ONLINE. Specialized in the Middle East, history, and everything related to propaganda, he has reported from France, Poland, Israel and the Palestinian territories, the United States, and Lebanon. He graduated from the Henri Nannen School for Journalism in Hamburg and holds a degree in Philosophy and in History from the Dresden University of Technology.
In 2015, together with Alexandra Rojkov, he was awarded the CNN Journalist Award 2015 for outstanding foreign reporting. His book "Populismus" which aims to explain populism to a young audience appeared in 2017 (Carlsen Verlag).
