With the effervescence of downtown on one side and the flow of the St. Lawrence river on the other, the Quai de l’Horloge seems to have fallen asleep to the rhythm of the metropolis’ frantic ticking. Yet, suddenly, the music just gives it a new rhythm, a new momentum.
Sparkling visuals, original art installations and talented artists add to these new frequencies to create Ancient Future Festival 2016. Drawn to this musical frequency, thousands of Montrealers head to the clock and get together to celebrate just like free electrons looking for an unforgettable experience.
Ancient Future Festival 2016 is an electronic festival set in the Old Port at the heart of Montréal, Canada.
Drawing from a wide palette of electronic music styles, ranging from house to techno to trip-hop and beyond, organizers have put together a lineup that will include sets from XXYYXX, Kerri Chandler, Scuba, Tokimonsta, N’to, Worakls, Joachim Pastor, Randomer, Kobosil, Project Pablo, CRI, Ryan Playground, Tazz & Giovanni Randisis, Or Room, Van Did, 00 AM, Robert Robert, Thomas White, Debbie Doe and Rue du Bois.
The historical Old Port offers Montrealers and visitors alike access to a wide variety of activities, including the Montréal Science Centre, with an IMAX Theatre, and the Montreal Clock Tower. It offers riverfront access for walking, cycling, roller-blading, quadricycle, pedalo and Segway rentals.
It is also located at the eastern end of the Lachine Canal, which has itself been extensively refurbished as a popular destination for cycling, roller-blading and pleasure boating. Cultural events include the Festival Montréal en lumière, Igloofest and the Matsuri Japon festival.
