Do you speak like a pro?
Not even sure what a pro speaker sounds like?
I have many people ask me if I can help them speak like a pro.   My standard answer is which pro do you want to speak like, and wouldn't it be better if you spoke like yourself and become a great and effective speaker.

Many of the speakers we listen to and admire are good because they understand their audience, they know their message and they know how to give you what you want.    Many of them, speak really well but give you nothing in return, except the chance to spend thousands on their new program.

You have to decide what sort of speaker you want to be.   Only then can you speak with authenticity and be able to resonate with the people you are speaking to.     I have heard many of the 'greats' speak and come away wondering what all the fuss was about.

So how many ways are there to speak?

Many.

Are you someone who wants to inspire your audience to do something different?
Do you want to motivate your audience?
Are you speaking to sell something, and want to get your audience all fired up and willing to pay for your books, workshops etc.?
Do you just want to impart information to your audience?
Are you telling a story?

If you are going to speak like a pro, you need to understand who you are talking to and what you want them to do.    If you do not know this basic information, you will never speak effectively and you will never know if you have achieved what you set out to achieve.

Don't speak like a pro. Speak as yourself to the people you want to speak to in a voice they understand.    Then, and only then, will you speak like a pro because people will remember you and want to hear you again and again.
