A former social worker wrongly accused of crimes in relation to child pornography has said the police ruined his life because they did not know gay slang.

Mike Whitla from the Northern Irish town of Bangor in County Down was arrested two years ago on the suspicion of making and owning child pornography with 71 images ranging in seriousness from grade one to five; grade five pictures typically involve abusers with babies.
