WIZO berlin magazine, September 2017 - The WIZO berlin magazine is published once a year on Rosh haShana, the jewish new year. A team of five passionate and professional volunteers work on this publication together. The revenue collected through ads of businesses and private people are transferred directly to the social projects of the Womens International Zionist Organisation (WIZO) in Israel: women shelters, youth centers and nursery schools.

"Longing for freedom and peace" is the title of our new edition of 132 pages. The faces of the jewish refugees, survivors of the Shoah, arriving in the port of Haifa in 1948, show hope for a better life and strain at the same time. We remember the first Zionist Congress in Basel and the first years of the new born Israeli state. We ask freedom and peace expressed itself in Israel and amongst Jews living in Germany today.
