Delicious seasonal cuisine, delightful service and weekly special offers, Locale is Fulham’s favourite home away from home

There can’t be many businesses which, when a long-serving staff member moves on, invites customers along to the leaving party. That’s not unusual at Locale on Munster Road, and it says everything about the family feel created at the neighbourhood restaurant by Linn Hedblom, the charming Manager, and her team.

‘Regulars often bring in gifts on our birthdays,’ smiles Linn. ‘Also, if someone has a spare ticket for Fulham – fans meet here on match days for lunch or dinner – they ask if one of us can use it. We provide a genuinely warm welcome and friendly service and, in return, we’ve got to know some lovely people!’

Locale specialises in authentic Mediterranean cuisine with a strong emphasis on rustic Italian dishes. The menus (a la carte, set three-course dinner for £30 with a cocktail or G&T, Sunday roasts, Meat-up Monday with excellent value selected cuts, Kid’s and Wheat-free) were designed by Head Chef Angelo Martello and all the dishes are cooked on site using fresh seasonal ingredients.

The interior is comfortable and cosy, with a separate bar and lounge area that makes Locale perfect for drinks and sit-down parties and intimate meals. The restaurant is always popular during the festive season and Linn is currently taking bookings for the Christmas menu (three courses for £29) and black tie New Year’s Eve party (three courses for £65).

Equal care and attention has been devoted to devising the wine list, the draught beers are supplied by Camden Brewery (there is a daily Happy Hour from 4-7pm) and barman James mixes a mean cocktail. Locale also offers a variety of weekly specials, including Wine Wednesdays with nine bottles at half price and Friday aperitivos with free flatbreads from 5-7pm if you are drinking at the bar.

So, which dishes would Linn recommend? ‘It’s very hard to choose. Our homemade pastas and pizzas are delicious – Italian visitors have said they’re the best in London – and I love the venison with truffle mash potato. And for dessert, it has to be Angelo’s wonderful tiramisu.’
