Lawless Part 3 - Reconciling Our World to The Prophesies Of Scripture

Lawless Part 3 - Reconciling Our World to The Prophesies Of Scripture

As I mentioned at the end of the second article of our series on America becoming a Lawless nation, “It is difficult to say if we are living in the End Times as outlined in Scripture. However, if one steps back and views the incredible number of totally unpredictable changes that have taken place in just the past five years, it would seem apparent to the Biblical Christian that God is actively performing one miracle after another to perfect His will on our nation, and the world in general.” So, how do we reconcile what we see in our world today with the prophesies contained in Scripture?

Three Questions That Need To Be Asked
The First Question…

Is America moving toward the New Jerusalem or Babylon? Said differently, are we, as a nation, going to return to our Biblical Christian roots, to a country united and accepting of a higher authority (God) for our moral compass? Or, will we continue to head down a road toward Babylon, which represents evil, idolatry, and immorality (Rev 18:2-3)? Taken even further, reflecting on another article at BCW, is America actually becoming the New Babylon, literally? It is impossible to know at present, however, the answer is probably one of the most significant ones as we look to the future.

The Second Question…

If Babylon is the answer to the first question, then how close are we to the beginnings of the Tribulation period, where God will ultimately destroy most of mankind?

- We don’t know the day/hour… - Mark 13:32 “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
- But we are told to be ready…- Matthew 24:44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
- Things need to happen before the Tribulation starts. - Life needs to get a lot worse.- Could happen slowly over time – new pandemic, financial collapse, climate change, genetic engineering, continued moral decay, etc.
- Could happen quick – EMP/GMD knocks out the power grid, a nuclear war, etc.
- What are the signs in Scripture that the Tribulation might be near (Mat 24:8)? - 1 Tim 4:1 – Departure from the faith, devotion to the teachings of deceitful spirits
- 2 Peter 2:1-3 – False Teachers will be money hungry
- 2 Tim 3:3 – Evil Doers will have no self-control
- Matt 24:7 – Increase in earthquakes
- 1 Tim 4:2 – Increase in liars whose consciences are seared
- Matt 24:6 – You will hear of wars and rumors of wars
- Matt 24:12 – Lawlessness will increase
- 2 Tim 3:5 – Being religious but denying God’s power
- 2 Tim 4:4 – Will substitute Christian truth with fantasy
-  2 Pet 3:5-6 – Many will deny Noah’s ark and the flood
-  1 Tim 4:3 – The institution of marriage will be forsaken
-  Matt 24:7 – Increase in famines
-  1 Tim 4:3-4 – Abstinence from certain God-created foods.
-  1 Thes 5:3 – A cry for peace but instead, destruction will come
-  Zech 12:3 – Nations will turn against Jerusalem
-  Dan 12:4 – Knowledge will increase (technology/travel)
-  Matt 13:25-30 – Increase of hypocrites within the church
- Matt 24:15-21 – Increasing activity related to rebuilding the Jerusalem temple
-  Matt 24:11,24 – Increase of religious cults and false teachers
-  Luke 21:26 – People will fear for the future
-  2 Tim 3:4 – Humanity will become materialistic
-  Matt 24:14 – Gospel will be preached throughout the World
-  Matt 24:9 – Christian persecution on the rise
-  Luke 21:25 – Signs in the sun, moon, and stars
-  2 Tim 3:2 – Men will become lovers of themselves
-  2 Peter 3:4 – Men will mock the belief that we are in the End Times
The Final Question…

If we are in the period right before the Tribulation begins, what should we do?

- If you are a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, acknowledging that He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the grave…- 2 Peter 3:11-12 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!
- Luke 10:27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
- The greatest expression of Love we can offer is to share the eternal Good News of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.
- If you are not a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, you need to ask the Lord to save your soul from an eternal destiny in a real and literal Hell. Check out…- Billy Graham Steps to Peace
