NOKOMIS -- In a year that has resulted in new businesses opening during the COVID-19 pandemic, another local business is opening its doors next month. This is especially true in the city of Nokomis.
In this instance, a building that was once the bowling alley is getting a much-needed new life, thanks to Scott and Courtney Robinson.
ThriftFair Community Resale is opening its doors on Jan. 8, 2021, marking the Robinsons' second brick-and-mortar business in town. The Robinsons own and operate Nokomis FunShop, located at 115 W. State Street.
The concept for the store came following the purchase of the building from Brett Mills.
After closely inspecting the building, he knew that it needed a lot of work done to it.
"Another piece of history has been saved in the Nokomis community with a new story to tell," states Robinson.
Expect savings on clothing, furniture, books, games, and more
Robinson states that ThriftFair will offer savings on a wide variety of items. Whether it is new or used clothing, home décor, books, games, or anything in between, you could save more than you would if you purchased it at a retail store.
"It's a great feeling to know you're getting more for less by choosing to shop at a local thrift store over a traditional retailer," Scott says. "We wanted a way to offer thrift type products locally and decided on the ThriftFair theme."
