What Is The Stree Manoraksha Project: All Details For UPSC

Stree Manoraksha Project is launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD)in collaboration with NIMHANS Bengaluru.
The Project aims to improve the mental health of women suffering from harmful, violent, and harsh mental pain in their life. It will also provide assistance to women regarding mental, psychological, and legal support at the One-Stop Centres.
The project focuses on building One Stop Centres which will allow handling the sensitive cases of women who desperately are in need of help.
The government has also made a website "NIMHANS" regarding the information for the project details.

More Details for the Project

The project comprises 2 structures, 1 structure consists of all the One-Stop Centres which will provide basic training to women. It includes security guards, helpers, medical staff, administration, etc.
The second structure consists of more serious issues like giving multi-generational implications, and lifetime trauma issues including mental disorders, sexual abuse, sexual violence, counseling, suicidal attempts, and ethical issues.

What are One Stop Centres?

One-Stop Centres are launched by the Ministry of women and child development and tend to provide assistance to women suffering from violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, peers, community, and at the workplace.
It is an integrated step towards the help of women who are suffering from cruel acts in society. Women are always welcome to approach to One-Stop-Centres seeking help if they have ever suffered from violence, abuse, threat, or mental issues.
The project which has been outlined by NIMHANS will be imparted in two formats where one format will focus on basic training for all OSC functionaries including the security guards, cook, helpers, case workers, counselors, centre administrators, para medical staff etc.
The second format will take care of the advanced course which focuses on multi-generational implications and life time trauma in case of several violence against women for which MWCD has launched the advance certificate course for OSC Councilors and released the resource material for capacity building of OSC Staff.
