Klitschko’s Career And Record

Vitali is also a Ukrainian politician professional. Vitali has served as mayor of  Kyiv and, has been the head of the Kyiv City State Administration as well, where he held both offices since June 2014.
Not only this, but Klitschko is also a former leader of the Petro Poroshenko Block and, a former member of the Ukrainian Parliament as well.
Klitschko started to get involved in Ukrainian politics actively in 2005 and later on, he combined this with his professional boxing career until he took retirement from the sport in 2013.
Klitschko during his childhood days excelled at kickboxing as a boy, and when Vitali was 13 he first donned a pair of boxing gloves.
During the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, Vitali was selected to represent Ukraine in boxing, but unfortunately, he tested positive for steroids and was dismissed from the team.
Later on, Wladimir, his brother also followed Vitali and got into amateur boxing, where he took his place and clinched the super heavyweight gold medal. Both the Klitschko brothers made their professional debuts during the same fight card in Hamburg, Germany, 1996, where both scored a knockout victory.

The Mayor of Kyiv and the Former heavyweight boxing champion Vitali Klitschko during an interview stated that he would pick up arms alongside his brother and fellow Hall of Famer Wladimir Klitschko to fight in what is a “bloody war” following Russia’s invasion of their country Ukraine.
“I don’t have another choice, I have to do that. I’ll be fighting,” the 50-year-old, known as “Dr. Ironfist” during his fighting days, Vitali stated.
