Making the headlines is Microsoft Corporation after their decision to buy gaming biggie Activision Blizzard Inc. in what is known to be a $68.7 billion deal.
With Microsoft and Activision Blizzard, two of the biggest names in video games joining hands, the creation of the world’s third-biggest gaming company is now on the cards.

Activision Blizzard Acquisition Deal: How Much Will Microsoft Pay To The Gaming Giant?

Through this deal, which happens to be its largest purchase ever, Microsoft will pay $95 a share in cash for a gaming publisher that stands as one of the most legendary ones we have seen in recent times, having been responsible for titles like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft.
But at the same time, the gaming biggie is also facing other difficulties and challenges which have developed into a cultural upheaval of sorts, posed over its attitude and treatment towards women.

Who Is Set To Be The New CEO Of Microsoft Gaming?

CEO of Activision, Bobby Kotick will proceed to serve in that role, but only until the deal has been sealed, as heard from someone associated and familiar with the deal between Microsoft and Activision. Post the successful completion of the affair, the Activision Blizzard business will report to Phil Spencer, who was himself promoted alongside the deal to CEO of Microsoft Gaming.

How Does The Deal Benefit Satya Nadella And Co?

Activision has several popular titles to its name and these getting added to Microsoft will help the software giant expand its own offerings for the Xbox console and drive it into the rapidly growing markets for mobile gaming in addition to the meta-verse.
Not just that, the deal also aligns with chief executive officer Satya Nadella’s strategies which revolve around focusing on content, community and cloud software. Activision will also help Microsoft compete better with, and have an edge over rival Sony’s PlayStation.
Here’s what CEO Satya Nadella said in a note to his employees, “Gaming has been key to Microsoft since our earliest days as a company. Today, it’s the largest and fastest-growing form of entertainment, and as the digital and physical worlds come together, it will play a critical role in the development of meta-verse platforms.”
Will PS Users Be Able To Play Activision Games Now?
Phil Spencer, Microsoft Gaming’s new CEO spoke to Bloomberg and went on to confirm that they will not be pulling away Activision titles from PlayStation. He went on to let all those who play Activision Blizzard games on Sony’s platform know that it’s not their intent to pull communities away from that platform and that they remain committed to that.
However, someone who is aware of the company’s thinking patterns revealed that while Activision will continue to release games for PS consoles, some of the content will be exclusive to Xbox. What this means is that some of the games that are introduced by Activision Blizzard in the future are also exclusive to Xbox.
