Video footage taken by local residents has emerged of the Mi-17 helicopter moments before its crash which lead to the demise of CDS General Bipin Rawat
India was rocked by the harrowing news of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika and 11 other armed forces personnel losing their lives on Wednesday in a helicopter crash which occurred near Coonor in Tamil Nadu.
Video Emerges Of Mi-17 Helicopter Moments Before Helicopter Crash Involving CDS Bipin Rawat
The calamitous Mi-17 crash which has the lone survivor in Group Captain Varun Singh who is currently under treatment at a military hospital in Wellington has sent ripples across the entire country. The crash is said to have taken place at 12:22pm after the CDS had landed at the Sulur airbase at 11:34 am and taken off from Sulur in a Mi-17V5 chopper at around 11:48 am for Wellington.

While there's no footage which shows the crash or alludes towards the reason for it, footage has now surfaced of the helicopter moments before it crashed. The video which was shot by local residents shows the helicopter losing its balance whilst airborne.

The 20-second video shows the Mi-17 chopper heading towards Wellington just seconds before it crashed.
The true reason of the crash is yet to be ascertained with a Court of Inquiry being set up to try and determine what lead to the tragedy. Meanwhile, the crucial black box has finally been recovered, one which is set to provide inroads in the investigation.
Brig LS Lidder, Lt Col Harjinder Singh, Wing Commander PS Chauhan, Squadron Leader K Singh, JWO Das, JWO Pradeep A, Havildar Satpal, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitender Kumar, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar and Lance Naik Sai Teja all lost their lives in the crash.
