Arthur was tortured and raged at from March to April 2019, just a month after moving in with a new household.
In April, Thomas's mother gave authorities a tip after she noticed Arthur with brushes all over his back, which he claimed was caused by his stepmother, who cursed him as an ugly brat.
Throughout his stay at Cranmore's house, Arthur was kept imprisoned in his chamber, forced to stand still and not flinch, never properly fed, segregated from the children, and dosed with powerful salt solutions by the couple.

Arthur Labinjo was born to Olivia Labinjo Halcrow, his biological mother, who divorced his father Thomas.
The child was subsequently raised by his now-divorced mother until she was arrested for stabbing her ex-lover while he was sleeping. Olivia was sentenced to life in prison in 2019 for first-degree murder, and Arthur had since been placed in the custody of his father.
Despite the grandmother's prior warnings, Arthur's condition was deemed satisfactory as Tustin and Thomas concocted stories about the brushing and threatened the child not to say anything.

The Court decided that Emma was guilty of first-degree murder and child maltreatment. Following the murder of their son Arthur, Emma was sentenced to 29 years in prison and Thomas to 21 years.
