The AFF Championship 2020, also known as the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 will commence from December 5, 2021, till January 5, 2022, in Singapore. Initially, the tournament was planned to start from November 23, 2020, to December 31, 2020, but it was postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The matches will be held at the National Stadium in Kallang, and Bishan Stadium in Bishan. Initially, countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Indonesia, were interested in becoming the host of the tournament, but due to the pandemic and its restrictions, Singapore was chosen as the host of the tournament.
A total of 10 teams will be participating in the tournament. The teams that will be playing in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 are associated with the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The AFF governs Asian Football and was founded in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1984 by Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore , and Thailand. Southeast Asia and Australia come under the AFF. The current president of the ASEAN Football Federation is Maj. Gen. Khiev Sameth.
