South Africa beat Pakistan in the penalty shoot outs with a score of 3-3 (4-1). On the other hand, South Korea beat Poland 3-2. The ninth place match is going to take place between South Africa and Korea, while Pakistan and Poland will compete in the eleventh place match. These matches will take place on December 4th.
Canada beat the USA 4-0, and Chile beat Egypt 1-0. Now, Canada will take on Chile and the USA will take on Egypt for the thirteenth and fifteenth place, respectively.
After defeating Pakistan in a shoot-out following an exciting 3-3 tie in the third match of the day, South Africa is certain of at least matching their highest finish at a Men's Junior World Cup. Their previous best was in the 2016 competition in Lucknow, but a win in Saturday's final would put South Africa's youth squad on the world map for the first time.
Moin Shakeel and Abdul Shahid gave Pakistan a 2-0 lead but Senzwesihle Ngubane equalised shortly after halftime. For the Green Shirts, Abdul Rehman regained a two-goal lead, but South Africa recovered with two goals in just over one minute, as captain Guy Morgan thumped home a penalty corner and Idrees Abdulla finished off a magnificent team play.
