With the state banning plastic, for protection of environment, the city's crematoriums too are going the green way. Now, 20 of the city's crematoriums are expected to turn eco-friendly by the end of this year. Following the example of E-Moksha, a PNG (Piped Natural Gas)-based green crematorium in Santacruz, the BMC had initiated a project to turn the city's 20 crematoriums green in 2016. Most of the crematoriums to be converted are works-in-progress and are likely to be completed by this year-end, confirmed a BMC official.
