Bicycle safety strobe light

If you’ve ever gone on long bikes rides you know that sometimes you jut can’t make it back in the day light. Having a safety strobe bike light in your pack can get you safely home for when you’re having to ride back in the dark. I personally have one of these lights and this thing is visible from far away in the darkest conditions. It’s always better to not ride when it is dark out side, but sometimes things happen.

The light fights in my seat case just fine along with my other spare parts and tools. There is a special clip you can install on one of the rear forks and the light clips right into it. This light is so bright you can see it during the daytime as well. I’d highly recommend this light as a back-up in case you get stuck in the dark.

I’m now on bike training to lose weight.

After a short ride on Tuesday and a day off on Wednesday I’m ready for another 32 miler. Tuesday I bonked really early, which to me was a sign of the beginning of over training so I took Wednesday off and ate more food. I’ve been pushing the cycling pretty hard (for me at least) recently with back to back 32 milers in addition to counting calories to lose wight. Not a good idea. I’m going to have to pick either to lose weight, or perform, and at this point I am going for the weight loss. This will mean easier but longer rides, something that will take me time to get used to.

Being that my 32 mile ride usually averages 16 – 17MPH I’m going to have to cut that back to 12 – 15MPH so that I can consistently ride that mileage every day without over training and bonking myself due to dieting and lack of food.

So starting today I am going to cut the speed down and get rid of this belly fat so that I can go out and do some real training with best indoor bike trainers. My plan is to get into a daily 500 calorie deficit and ride 32 miles per day and attempt to take a day off every 3 days or so. Maybe I’ll even mix it up and ride 3, take a day off, ride 2, take a day off etc. We’ll see how it goes and I’ll post what seems to be working.
