Lockdown: 1.57 lakh Indian e-registered for return UAE to India
Due to the global pandemic (COVID-19), over 1.57 lakh people have registered for e-registration in the last three days on the website launched by the Indian Mission in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to report, Launched on 29 April, people are still registering on this portal.
According to the data so far by the Indian Mission, around 57 percent of those registered on the portal are from the state of Kerala.
It is followed by people from the states of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.
Among them, 40 workers per cent and 20 percent are registered professionals in the database, who have lost their jobs and now want to return.
About 10 percent of the people who are stranded here are on travel or tourist visas. There are five percent of people who want to return due to medical exhibition.
At the same time, about 1.5 per cent of pregnant women are those who have registered to go back.
Less than one percent of the people aged above 65 have registered to go back to India.
The online registration portal is open to evaluate the number of people who wish to return from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to other Gulf countries as well.
The form requires basic details such as passport, mobile number, reason for return and address in India.
The decision on resuming passenger flights will be taken by the Government of India in due course.
The Indian Mission also said that any announcement regarding flights would be made on a website and other social media platforms.
