Mumbai: Filmmaker Karan Johar on Tuesday announced his new directorial venture "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani". Along with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi will be seen in the film.

The announcement of the film was sung on 6th July on Ranveer Singh's birthday. Karan Johar said on Twitter that he will direct his "favourites" Alia and Ranveer in the upcoming film "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani".
Karan Johar tweeted, "Excited to be behind the scenes with the people I love. Presenting the love story of Rocky and Rani. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are in lead roles and Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy have written the story of the film. Ranveer also announced his new film on Twitter.
Ranveer wrote that "A special announcement on my special day presents 'Rocky and Rani ki love story' with Alia Bhatt" Alia wrote in an Instagram post, "Legendary, evergreen and inspiring. Meet Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi for the rest of the story's pillars."
Karan Johar recently made headlines after his banner Dharma Productions officially announced that actor Kartik Aaryan will no longer star in his upcoming production 'Dostana 2'.
